Singapore, 08 December 2000 - In its continuous effort to enhance the music lifestyle experience, Vivamusic.com has brought in one of the world's smallest digital music players, the Sanyo SSP-PD7. Vivamusic.com, the leading innovative music lifestyle network in Asia, has gained the rights to sell the Sanyo SSAP player in ASEAN.
"We are very excited about the Sanyo SSAP player," said Mark Lai, CEO, Vivamusic.com. "The portable player is small, lightweight, easy to operate, provides high audio quality in both MP3 and AAC formats, and comes in a beautiful aluminum casing."
The SSP-PD7 was created with the objective of bringing peace of mind to content providers intent on the legal distribution of digital music. Not only is it compliant with the SDMI (Secure Digital Music Initiative), which is a secure and encoded format, it also supports Liquid Audio's Secure Portable Player Platform (SP3) technology, which is a security protocol that protects the rights of the copyright holders.
The player offers ease of use to music-lovers who want high quality music that can be obtained easily at any time. Digital music data can be easily downloaded into the player's memory card from the Internet using a PC. Customers can access over 70,000 CD-quality music tracks from Liquid Audio, available through Vivamusic.com.
The basics of the portable player:
· Compatible with audio compression formats of AAC and MP3 files
· 32MB removable MultiMediaCard flash memory
· SDMI compliant
· USB interface
· Powered by one "AAA" alkaline battery for approximately 5 hours
of playback time
· All/one/random repeat play modes
· 4 Preset equalizer modes of Normal, Jazz, Pop, Rock, and 2 bass boost modes.
In addition, users need not worry about upgrading as the player uses a Multi-Decoding system, which makes it compatible with future advancements in audio compression technology and different audio compression formats. It is believed that the superior performance of AAC with its capabilities of 5-channel signals with other efficiencies will gain much popularity in the next few years.
Mark added, "We believe that such players will replace CD and MD players in the future. MP3 player's worldwide market demand in 1999 exceeded one million units, and is expected to hit seventeen million units within the next five years."
The Sanyo SSP-PD7 uses a multi-decoder system to play audio compression format files of MPEG-1 Layer 3 (MP3) and MPEG-2 Advanced Audio Coding (AAC). It is not only small and lightweight, but it also provides a high sound quality playback of up to AAC-128kbps. With memory storage on a removable 32MB Multi-Media Card, it provides a good length of playback time between 60mins at AAC-60kbps to 30mins at AAC-128kbps without interruption to the music even when receiving shock. The player made its debut in Japan in spring this year, and was later introduced in the USA this past summer. It is currently selling well in both countries.
Priced at S$599.00, Vivamusic.com will sell the Sanyo portable player online as well as at Vivamusic Hub. Since Vivamusic.com's official launch in September 2000, it has constantly added new features to its website and flagship store, upgraded its music content, as well as engaged in strategic alliances to not only broaden its reach to music-lovers, but also enhance their music lifestyle experience.
