Kinobe | Soundphiles
A pair of teenage friends, Mark Blackburn and Julius Walters, formed this startling team on New Year's Day in 1998 in West London. Having signed to Pepper Records, they have released two limited edition EPs 'Planet Soup' and 'Good Migrations', as well as their critically acclaimed debut single 'Slip Into Something'.
“Soundphiles”, which contains the likes of Groove Armada (of “I See You Baby” fame), was released in 1999, which includes five tracks from their original demos. Expect an array of orchestral strings and interesting samples, ranging from Spanish guitars to dub and acoustic ambience. Collaborators on this project include acoustic duo Ben & Jason and the dub poet Benjamin Zephanie.
