Kitaro | Ancient
The man is not known as the Master of New Age for nothing. With a Grammy
nomination, a Golden Globe award and two dozen albums under his belt,
Kitaro releases yet another album from the bowels of his studio home in
the mountains in the United States. Well known for his majestic melodies,
Kitaro developed the soul of each track in this latest release specially
for a five-hour show in Hong Kong, including an exclusive performance
aboard a ship. With a theme surrounding ancient culture and civilization,
the title of the release could not have been more apt. "Ancient" comprises of timeless pieces inspired by the works of Mother Nature.
From the first note, Kitaro brings us on a journey into the realms of the
Egyptian river Nile, the Pyramids, ritual dances, and even through the
ride on a unicorn. A strange sweetness lingers around the tracks, with
each approach being orignal, fresh and appealing. For some, "Ancient" might be a little too saturated. But if you have a palate
for New Age music, then "Ancient" is just what you need.
