"Glitter" doubles up as an album and a soundtrack for Mariah's acting debut
in the movie of the same name. This also marks her first album under the Virgin
Records umbrella and the first time that she featured so many artistes in any of her album.
With the collaboration of artistes such as Ludacris, Da Brat, Mystikal, Busta Rhymes
and many more, it looks like she's going straight up the hip-hop way.
If you don't dig beats that are similar to Grandmaster Flash's works then this album
might not be for you. True that it is also a soundtrack to a movie that is based in 1982,
but her ballads could have been better. Of all the 12 tracks in the album, "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life"
sticks out like a sore thumb for the different blend of music it contains. Thumbs up for Mariah who
co-produced and co-wrote "Glitter".
"Glitter" is definitely a must-hear for all Mariah die-hards and to those who hate her to the core.
