Don Philip’s talents were seen way before his debut album.
First he performed the duet “I Will Still Love You” with pop
princess and label-mate Britney Spears that was featured in
her debut album. Then another of his singles, “Sugar” appeared
on the platinum–selling soundtrack, “Drive Me Crazy”.
Now, the 23-year-old singer has entered the pop industry
with his self-titled debut album.
Singing and performing since the age of three, Don has done
singing back up for artistes such as Gloria Estefan, Peobo Bryson
and Taylor Dayne. Citing artistes like Dolly Parton, Amy Grant,
Bon Jovi, Whitney Houston and Babyface as his musical influences,
Don prides himself on having an eclectic taste of music which is
apparent on this debut album.
This 12-track (inclusive of a bonus track) album consists of
tracks written and produced by Richard Marx and Eric Foster White,
who happens to be songwriter and producer for Backstreet Boys,
Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears. Not only that, BSB Brian
Litterell co-wrote the single, “How Did I Ever” in the album.
An interesting blend of talents in this mainstream pop album,
Don covers all aspects. From the hip-hop hit single “You Make Me
Love You… More” to the sentimental “I’ll Leave It Up To You”, this
album is a sample of bigger things to come from Don Philip.
