The album opens with a Lenny Kravitz “funk-soul-rock” type of song. If you think Ms Badu has changed her style, you are wrong. 'Cos after “Penitentiary Philosophy”, its good old neo-soul all the way. It's a good mix of clever lyrics and wonderful beats. Erykah Badu's got some exciting stuff in here. Period.
